Who we are

About this guide

The short answer

Downtown Gainesville is an independent guide to the downtown of Gainesville, Georgia, published by Gold Peach Realty, a North Georgia real estate brokerage. We link every fact to its source, date every check, mark anything not yet confirmed and correct mistakes when readers tell us.

Who publishes this guide

This site is a community guide published by Gold Peach Realty, a real estate brokerage that works across North Georgia, including Gainesville and Hall County. We make it because people deciding whether to visit, or whether to live here, deserve one place with clear, dated answers about the downtown: where to park, what is on, where to eat, how the square came to look the way it does, and how close the lake really is.

We are not the City of Gainesville, Main Street Gainesville or Explore Gainesville, the county’s visitor bureau. Those organisations run the events and set the rules we write about, and every page links to them so you can confirm anything that matters before you travel.

How we check facts

  • Every date, address, rule and number links to the organisation that published it, with the date we last checked it.
  • If an organiser has not yet published this year’s date, we say so instead of guessing from last year.
  • Walking times in our tools are straight-line estimates from map coordinates, and they are labelled that way.
  • We do not publish invented prices, ratings, statistics or reviews. If we cannot source something, it is not on the page.
  • Photographs are real and credited, with their licences, on the photo and film credits page. The home page film is cut from those photographs; nothing in it is generated.

How we use AI

AI tools help us draft; people check every fact before it publishes. Articles are bylined to the Downtown Gainesville Editorial Team, the people who check them, rather than to an invented author.

Gainesville, Georgia, not Florida

This guide covers Gainesville in Hall County, Georgia, on the north shore of Lake Lanier. Gainesville, Florida is a different city in north-central Florida with its own downtown. If a search result mentions the University of Florida, it is about the other one.

Advertising, sponsorship and listings

Gold Peach Realty’s own listings appear on this guide, clearly labelled, and the brokerage’s contact details are on every page. We do not sell rankings or reviews. Any future local sponsorship will be labelled as sponsored where it appears. To ask about it, use the contact form.

Corrections

Spotted something out of date? Tell us through the contact form or at info@goldpeachrealty.com, and we will check it against the source and fix it. Pages show the date they were last checked.

Dates, rules and hours can change. The organisers have the final word: City of Gainesville downtown events
